Do you have a registry? We’ve been fortunate to gather many of the essentials for our life together over the past six years. Instead of physical gifts, we’re asking for contributions to our honeymoon in Scotland. For more details, check out the registry tab!
-
Are you taking each others last names?Nope, we’re keeping our own last names! It just feels right for us—we like to think we’re both too awesome to share one. At the end of the day, we don’t think sharing a last name is what makes our relationship meaningful.
-
Will you have a bridal party?Nope, we’re keeping things simple and skipping the bridal party. This way, we can focus on celebrating with all of you!
-
Why does your invite say celebration of love and commitment? We’re calling this a celebration of love and commitment because, for us, it’s all about honouring the bond we share and the journey we’re beginning together. We’re doing things in a way that feels right for us, embracing a more non-traditional approach to make the day ours. This day represents the love we have for each other and the commitment we’re making and all the amazing people in our lives who we get to celebrate with.
-
Will there be an open bar? We’re covering a set number of drinks for everyone, plus wine with dinner. After that, we’ll have a toonie bar running for the rest of the night so the celebration can keep going!
-
Will this be indoors or outdoors?Weather permitting, both our ceremony and welcome social will take place outdoors in front of the lake at Taghum Hall. Following the ceremony, our reception and party will be held indoors. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we have a lovely indoor option for the ceremony as well, so everything will run smoothly no matter what.
-
What is the dress code?Cocktail Attire: For our event, we’re going with cocktail attire, which generally means dressing up a bit more than casual but not as formal as black tie. Think of a nice suit or a dress shirt with a tie, or a midi- or knee-length dress or dressy separates.
-
Is there parking available at the venue?Yes there is plenty of parking available at the venue for anyone planning to drive. If you have too much fun and need to leave your car we have a shuttle service and can help you get back to your car on Sunday morning.
-
How can I get to and from the ceremony/reception?Yes, we’re providing a shuttle service! To the Ceremony: Shuttles will depart from a common location on Baker Street. Each trip accommodates 14 people, and the shuttle will run three times (42 people total). If you’ll need a ride to the venue, please let Sarah know. If the shuttle fills up, we can help arrange carpooling for you. From the Venue: Shuttles will run continuously from 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM, taking guests back to Baker Street. For those driving, there’s ample parking at the venue. If you leave your car overnight, we’ll help you return to retrieve it the next morning.
